What does it mean to be physically fit?

Everyone has a level of physical fitness. How fit you consider yourself to be is determined by what you want to achieve physically.

You may be happy that are able do everything that you want or need to do to live your life in the way you want to, you may want to be able to lift weights, run races, or swim miles, you may have other particular fitness goals, so your level of fitness is personal to you.

This is why we must never compare ourselves with other people. Their goals will most probably be different from yours.

You may not have any particular fitness goals as mentioned above but it’s important to think about whether or not you can do everything you need to do to live your life easily and without pain. Can you walk up and down stairs without pain or getting out of breathe? Can you easily carry your shopping, reach for plates in cupboards, easily put your shoes on and do them up?

If the answer to any of these questions is no, then it would be worth thinking about including some exercise into your weekly routine. You don’t need to start running, going to the gym or doing burpees every day, there are much simpler things you can do at home without spending any money or joining a fancy gym.
